email: dariointernet@gmail.com IMPORTANT: COLLABORATE On my last day in India while looking around for vinyl and gramophone records I stumbled on an instrument shop in Darya Ganj market. I really love the sound of Tabla percussion, so I decided to buy one. I went into Biba Music emporium which is like an authority in Sitars and Tabla in Delhi. I found this out later because while I was carrying the enourmous bag with the tabla inside, people would point at the Biba Music logo and tell me that I had bought it from a famous good store.
The real tabla is made of goat skin so you can't buy fake ones because they wont play. Anyway, I couldn't resist buying one after hearing the handsome Sikh salesman playing it live infront of me.
God, he told me it weight 7 kilos, but after dragging the pair for 7 hours before my flight around Delhi, I would swear the pair weighs around 15 kilos. Or is it that I need to go to the gym!!?
I'm back in Madrid finally. Of the two sides of the tabla, the bigger one, for bass is much harder to play. I still haven't figured out how to make that deep ondulating bass sound I've heard in records.
They gave me a lesson book, so maybe I'll try reading it. I bought some records too.
