Notes: Not danceable or anything.... this band was from a small town called Burgos. the line up was three girls: 1 a bass player 2 a violin player 3 an excentric vocalist! there music was really original and touching and beautifull. They only managed to release 1 album... and were dropped after that. self-called critics just couldn't take 3 gilrs seriously. The album is very hard to find ... since it was never re-released and it was pre-cd days. |
CBS=Sony. . badly re-released on CD together with a completly unrelated artist. Can someone believe this???. |
Ole Ole "No Controles" (Don't Control)
Notes: 1983 this had a Video and went to #1 in Spain(CBS-sony). It was released in Italy by BABY records and hit the top40 there....because of that the song is familiar to many Italo Disco lovers....so here's the scan ...for you to enjoy....and the pleasure is mine! |

Las Vegas EP spain "Que no pare" (Hope it doesn't stop)
no compromize synth energy heaven very moroderish but
house influenced from the late eighties..with chanted vocals. Didn't sell at all...only
specialized radio airplay. Not to mention that spanish clubs wouldn't play
it because it was domestic product.

Dolce vida - Kristian Conde 86 Max!
Notes: No its not a cover of the Ryan Paris song... but yes its pure Italo_Disco heaven from Barcelona. His pronounciation is good too. This was released in the U.S as I found out in some San Francisco record store bargain bin! |

One of the hardest time I've had in getting a cd I've wanted has been with the next bands
debut cd(1992/1993).... . And after all from here in the U.S its easy to get product via the net from
the UK or Germany... but it seams that the rest of the central Euro countries are imposible to get cd's from
(Italian pop ballad an exception) .. But Here's their second one from 1994 on WEA/GASA... and
to my knowledge last ... as I guess they had a hard time with self proclaimed critics!
The music on their first lp was kind of Like "Red Flags" Naive art ... sung
in Spanish ...but more danceable and energetic.
Their second lp substituted the drum machine for an actual drummer.
Guitars were also added...I still like it a lot
Santuario first LP 92/93
Scan was provided by Josep Monedero of Manresa Spain...Thanks!
Rebecca from the Barcelona Dance scene believe it or not is more popular in The U.S.A than back home!! Her story is similar to Monica Naranjo..although Monica has finally got attention back home
Rebeca lp on MAX feautering the
Killer song: "No sea un engan~o"
Viceversa lp on MAX
Their Second. Their song "Ella" was a Top 20 Latin hit in the U.S
which is very difficult to achieve for non-balladers.
Also semi-ignored in Spain
I can't leave out Carlos Berlanga....he's such a great songwriter....I don't think his album "indicios" got any airplay....but Its one of my favorite album of all time released only on a small label in 1994 its just one killer song over elegant dance beats after another...just sing a long sing a long. I've added his picture to the sleave... since the sleave was just a copy of a Jobim album sleave!
