Mid September, I was in the departure launge of Malpensa airport of Milan when my eyes caught a huge billboard ad by Dolce & Gabbana . I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing.

I wish I could have taken a picture , but my Nokia all-in-one mobile phone-camera-walkman 95 runs out of battery just too quick! So I had no battery for a picture. So I'll try to describe what my perplexed eyes where seeing. They were advertising the most outdated clothes that pre-dates your great grandmother in taste!!!

More or less this was the add that I saw:

At some point your great grandmother might have worn clothes like that. But please people, REFUSE TO LET THEM SELL YOU GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHER CLOTHES AS COOL. It is NOT!!! Like...NOOOOOO!!! Just Don't!!!!

Stupidity has it's limits. I hope they ban D&G again here in Spain. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Well I had been hoping this concept of "grandmother" clothes would not catch on and remain another stupidity of D&G just like that billboard add of theirs with the girl laying down with an artificial leg in the air and a queer guy instructed to lay on her... Bizarre!!! But when I was in Rhodes island Greece my hotel was located in the shopping district which meant that my eyes caught the front screen of the Benetton store. This time my N95 was charged, because now I take extra batteries with me. This picture is what I saw:

Yes, It is a black, great grandmother skirt. The sort they would wear in italian villages to go to funerals.

I don't think it is funny even worn as a gothing clothing accessory, a la "The Cure" fans.

I think Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana just make too much money. The company makes in excess of 750 Millon dollars a year. So they probably just dont take things seriously and like to play with people and laugh at them. Don't bight the bait. The wikipedia page for D&G starts by saying Madonna wears their clothes. Do you want to immitate a streched 50 year-old, several times dumped and divorced bitch that after all these years can't learn to sing properly?
