Given that once again the album Enemigos de lo Ajeno (1986) by Spain's El Ultimo de La Fila has been selected as the best spanish rock album of all times, I bring you several articles from 1993 during the promotion of their other great album Astronomia Razonable. The articles are related to their live adventures with Angelo Branduardi . Also I have uploaded an incomplete 0:55 Sample preview of El Ultimo De La Fila's hit Canta por mi sung in italiano from a live performance in Milano.

Like many know, Astronomia Razonable was released in Italy in Italian. The album had no success over there. Part of the problem was that El Ultimo De La Fila did not make a nice quality video for any of the italian versions of that album. Other issues were that there were no duets with italian artists, which would have helped them get introduced to italians. I would have suggested Mango as a colaborator. In any case, I found the article in Corriere della Sera very rude. I wonder if italians would like it if in Spain their artists were treated like this. The idiot italian reviewer describes El ultimo de la fila as "soft", which is the last thing I can think of when it comes to "El Ultimo", additionally he describes them as "Latin sounding" which again shows that this idiot reviewer has absolutely no understanding of music. El ultimo.. sounds more Bereber or Mourish than Latin!! Where did he get "Latin" from? They definitly don't sound traditional either. They were described in Spain as wierdo's, so its funny to read somebody being so off to describe them as traditional!!!

El Ultimo de la Fila had the very cute idea of singing their songs in Italian in their italian shows. Not only the tracks recorded in italian were sung in italian, but even tracks that had not been released in italian on their CD's. These live italian versions included Insurección ( Insurezzione ) and listen to a preview - sample below of Canta por mi ( Canta per me ) in italiano . Does anyone have more or the entire concert? If so, please email me.
